URETERIC CATHETER

• A ureteral catheter, also known as a Double J (DJ) or pigtail catheter, is a thin, flexible tube inserted into the ureter (the tube connecting the kidney to the bladder) to facilitate drainage or other interventions. It's used to address issues like kidney stones, ureteral strictures, or to prevent complications after certain surgeries.
• Drainage: To allow urine to drain from the kidney to the bladder when there is a blockage or obstruction.
• Bypass: To bypass a blockage caused by kidney stones or other obstructions.
• Support: To support the ureter after surgery or in cases of strictures (narrowing).
• Contrast Injection: To inject contrast medium for imaging (retrograde pyelography).
